Set up a JustGiving page – visit www.justgiving.com to set up your personalised on-line fundraising page.
Set up a JustTextgiving code on your Justgiving page. Send the code to your friends and contacts and they can sponsor you via their mobile phone. This is the quickest and easiest way to sponsor up to £10 as it is simply added to their phone bill and is paid direct to us.
Try to make sure your first sponsor pledges a large amount, others tend to follow suit!
Take your sponsorship form with you everywhere you go – and ask everyone you know (and some you don’t!) to sponsor you
Encourage all eligible sponsors (UK tax payers) to tick the column confirming that they wish to “Gift Aid” their donation and complete their details in full (postcode essential) – this allows us to claim an extra 25% on their donation from the Government without any extra charge to them
Do all of your on-line shopping through GoRaise and we will receive a donation for every purchase you make with your favourite retailers. It is FREE and easy to use! Simply visit https://www.goraise.co.uk/neccr
If you have an interesting story about why you are raising funds for North of England Children’s Cancer Research please share it with us and we can help promote your fundraising to a wider audience
Insert a ‘signature’ at the bottom of your emails making reference to your JustGiving page so people can follow the link and sponsor you straight away
Check if your employer operates a Matched Giving scheme to match your donations £ for £
Consider whether you have access to any free advertising space in which to promote your fundraising e.g. a company newsletter, intranet, website or professional publication.
Use the power of social media to let your friends and family know about your fundraising
Tweet us @NECCR and like our Facebook page and we will help to spread the word about your fundraising activities
Thank your donors via social media. People really appreciate this and it helps inspire others to do the same, along with letting everyone know how you’re doing.
