With the support of family and friends, Antonia Vescio has raised over £6,000 for the North of England’s Children Cancer Research following the death of her sister.

Antonia and a close group of friends began fundraising for the NECCR in January 2016, in memory of her sister Stephanie Vescio who died of Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Stephanie was first diagnosed in the year 2001, following complaints about an intermittent pain in her hip. The news was devastating, and in her last few months, she became a very brave, strong and inspiring young woman.

Such bravery inspired friends and family to hold a fundraising event in January 2016, to celebrate what would have been Stephanie’s 30th birthday. This event was a huge success and raised over £3k for the NECCR.

In November this year, Antonia and a group of close friends held their second ‘Cocktails for a Cure’ event at the Riverside Lodge in Morpeth. They raised an amazing £3,320, taking their total to £6,500!
