Ken Boughey contacted the NECCR over the summer to share his ambition of completing 3 running challenges before the end of the year.
Ken was inspired to fund research when a child at the nursery school he works at was diagnosed with leukaemia. He also runs in memory of his father who lost his life to cancer. In spite of his own health issues, including spondylitis in his neck and arthritis of the spine, Ken insists “that won’t stop me running as running helps with my posture.”
Over the summer months Ken completed The Durham City Run, The Carlisle Half Marathon and The Penshaw 10k. He kindly sent us some great photos from the events and has set himself a new goal of running 10k in under 45 minutes.
Thank you & well done Ken!
